Pro-Form Architects’ Rolled Table Challenges Furniture Standards With Curved Interface

Pro-Form Architects has created Rolled Table, an information booth made of flexible plywood that challenges the standard form of a table. Created for the Water and Land Niigata Art Festival, which has been held every three years since 2009.

I’m thinking this Rolled Table would naturally work well in a gallery or collaborative office space due to the distinctive curvature and lighting system.

With a tight budget and limited construction timeline, the table was designed around the concept of creating a perceptible interface.

“Both staff and citizens get an experience that is both familiar and peculiar, using the table while simultaneously being surrounded by it,” write the architects.
